Max Christenson, former national director of marketing for Blue Star Foods, was hired as national director of sales and marketing at Thailand-Based Charoen Pokphand Foods (CPF) this summer.
Christenson is heading up U.S. marketing to retailers, foodservice, and national accounts for CP Foods USA. While Christenson will be promoting new products in the coming months, there is “nothing I can discuss today,” Christenson told SeafoodSource.
One new product expected in the future is farmed shrimp from CPF’s new Homegrown Shrimp venture, a land-based farm that the company is reportedly developing in Boynton Beach, Florida.
“CP has been doing quite well for quite some time. I’m here to add to what they are doing; whatever is needed,” Christenson said. “I’m thankful for being presented with this opportunity. It’s fantastic to be with such a forward-looking, global enterprise.”
While Christenson said he maintains a great working relationship with John Keeler, CEO and CSO at Blue Star, he “moved on to a better opportunity for myself and my family. I feel I was able to contribute to what they wanted to accomplish. Blue Star can do really well down the road.”
